Kids in the Kitchen
Mission & Activities
Kids in the Kitchen (KITK) is a signature program of the Junior League of Winston-Salem dedicated to empowering children and families to make healthy lifestyle choices through nutrition education, hands-on cooking experiences, and physical activity. Designed for elementary-aged children and their caregivers, the program provides participants with practical skills they can use at home, including preparing nutritious meals, understanding healthy food choices, and developing lifelong wellness habits. Through interactive lessons, cooking demonstrations, and engaging activities, Kids in the Kitchen makes healthy living fun, accessible, and achievable for families throughout our community. By combining education with hands-on experiences, Kids in the Kitchen supports the Junior League of Winston-Salem’s commitment to improving the health and well-being of children and families while fostering confidence, independence, and healthy decision-making.
