Strong Women. Strong Families.

Mission & Activities

The Junior League of Winston-Salem’s (JLWS) Strong Women. Strong Families. committee strives to improve the health profile of our community. Each year we host several health and wellness fairs throughout the school year at different Title I elementary schools. Through these fairs we provide a safe, family-friendly atmosphere where we can facilitate relationships with the medical community, educate the community on a range of health issues including food preparation, mental health, fitness, and provide a healthy meal for the families during the event and one to prepare at home.

Strong Women. Strong Families. works with community professionals to share knowledgeable health tips, accessible community resources, and so much more! Some of our previous health and wellness fair attendees include: B Balance Counseling, Kaleideum, Novant Health Today’s Women, Brenner Fit, AHWFB Community Pharmacy, Imprints Cares, Parenting Path, Truist, H.O.P.E of Winston-Salem, You Can Vote, Mi Casa Community Services, Head Start, the DEAC clinic and many more.

IMPACT

Last year, Strong Women. Strong Families. served over 300 people at Cook Model Literacy School and Kimberley Park Elementary!

GET INVOLVED

How can you help? The Strong Women. Strong Families. committee collects miscellaneous small appliances to give out to the families that attend our health and wellness fairs. It is proven that families with more access to different kitchen appliances cook healthier meals.

Monetary gifts to the Junior League make programs like Strong Women. Strong Families. possible. If you want to support the League’s impact on our shared community, you can make your gift here.
